the national election, they are finally finished counting ballots in florida, and the official winner in that state, barack obama. president obama ended up edging out mitt romney by about 74,000 votes out of more than 8 million cast. florida's governor says his state will see what it can do to improve the voting process there in florida. many people waited as long as seven hours to cast their ballots. >>> and power is finally coming back for thousands of people in new jersey still in the dark since superstorm sandy. miss utility customers who lost power in the state should have service restored by today. 98% of homes and businesses in new york city and westchester county also have their lights back on but progress is much slower on long island where hundreds of angry residents protested outside the power company's offices saturday. that was on saturday. most customers there on long island will have service restored, they say, by tuesday. >>> and actors justin timberlake and jessica biel were among the volunteers helping clean up storm-ravaged rockaway, queens. according to "us" magazi

. in florida, however, they are still counting the votes. florida, another battleground state. that's where abc's cecilia vega is this morning, in tampa. cecilia, good morning. >> reporter: hey, elizabeth. good morning to you guys, back in new york. what an unbelievably long night it has been out here. they are still counting ballots this morning. we still don't know what the results are here in this state. some 200,000 ballots to be counted. president obama, in the votes so far that have been calculated, holds a slight lead above governor romney. about 45,000 votes so far. the long lines that we saw here in the state, leading up to election day, persisted even yesterday. there were reports as of election day of some voters still standing in line at 2:00 in the morning, waiting to cast their ballots in miami-dade. the long lines stretched down the blocks, made for angry voters. coupled with absentee ballots, means that poll workers are back at it again this morning. we should know the results later today. election officials promising every, single vote will be counted. >> what a marathon. cecil

, to a deadly boat accident that happened just off the coast of florida. a woman is dead and several more were hurt after a boat capsized near pompano beach, florida. the group was back from a thanksgiving diving trip. and bazi kanani has the story. >> reporter: witnesses say the wave came out of nowhere. >> it was windy. there were waves rolling in. >> reporter: the force, apparently so intense, water went over the 45-foot catamaran, tossing the 21 divers and 2 crew members onboard into the ocean. >> chaos. people just in the water and stuff. it's like unbelievable. >> reporter: and rolling the massive boat upside down. >> the wave caught it from behind and it flipped, as he was coming in the harbor. >> reporter: investigators say one woman was killed after she was trapped beneath the capsized boat. other passengers, many with injuries, climbed out of the water and on to the overturned hull. >> we started to do a headcount on everybody. and they were missing one. >> reporter: as beachgoers called 911, nearby boaters raced towards the accident, pulling people on to wave runners and into rescue
